Entry Level - No Experience Required. Position on a 3-man crew conducting land surveys for boundary, trees, and topography.
Seeking an I-man with 2 years experience using GPS and Total Station Instruments.
Analyze and design structural framing for residential and commercial projects in accordance with the latest international residential code, international building code, ASCE chapter 7, ACI 318 building code and AISC construction code under supervision of a licensed professional engineer. Structural design area of knowledge includes wood, steel, reinforced concrete, aerated concrete & insulated concrete forms. Analyze geotechnical reports from various laboratories and county soil surveys to obtain data for foundation design. Prepare structural framing & foundation documents to be sealed by the licensed professional engineer which shall comply with requirements from various municipalities in the San Antonio & Austin area. Perform site visits and project inspections for geotechnical, foundation and structural framing projects for municipal approvals, structural sufficiency and quality assurance. Generate letters/reports including structural assessment, forensic analysis, and recommendations for repairs and solutions. Communicate with projects owners, general contractors and field crews to aid in project coordination and quality assurance. Oversee the technical aspects of structural projects, lead a team of field and drafting technicians as well as entry level engineers, manage client relationships, ensuring project compliance with regulations, Review, approve and seal structural designs, calculations and drawings, communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities as needed, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the department.
Requirements:
Requires a PE (Professional Engineer) License by Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
4 years of experience in a structural engineering discipline.
Requires skills and experience to involve: Work experience and proficiency in RISA 3D structural design software for modeling and analyzing structures. Solid understanding of concrete foundation, wood and steel framing, and structural analysis. Comprehensive understanding of local and international building codes and regulations. Experience with complex engineering concepts working with clients, architects, contractors and stakeholders. Experience in structural forensics, which involves analyzing and diagnosing structural failures or deficiencies. Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions for existing structures. Work experience and proficiency with AutoCAD.
Requires fluent written and verbal communication in Spanish language.
Travel 25% of time to inspect projects within the state of Texas.
Position will supervise other employees.
Requires a PE (Professional Engineer) license by Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
40 hour work week.
